INDIA bloc will continue in 2027 UPpolls, PDA will uproot BJP: Akhilesh
Prayagraj: Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday said that that the INDIA coalition will continue in the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
Replying to a query on INDIA bloc, Akhilesh said that the "PDA (backward, Dalits, and minorities) would uproot the BJP" from the state in the 2027 assembly elections.
"INDIA alliance is (present) and will remain," he added.
Attacking the BJP, Akhilesh alleged that it was trying to grab land through waqf law.
"The BJP has brought waqf amendment so that it can snatch away land. Wherever they see land, they occupy it," he said, terming the BJP as "land mafia party".
He also accused the BJP of "snatching" people's money through demonetisation and GST and diminishing reservation rights.
Attacking the state govt on Maha Kumbh arrangements, he said that the govt "prioritised self-promotion over inadequate arrangements for devotees and pilgrims".
"The state govt was more interested in presenting the Maha Kumbh in an exaggerated manner. BJP ignored all our valuable suggestions which were based on our experience of organising the 2013 Kumbh. I shared ideas and suggestions through social media but every suggestion was considered criticism by the BJP," Akhilesh said.
"The Samajwadi Party got the opportunity to organise the 2013 Kumbh successfully. I gave many ideas and suggestions based on my experience. The preparations for the 2025 Maha Kumbh were not as good as that in 2013 Kumbh," he said.
"There is so much arrogance in the BJP that they consider even the suggestions given with good intentions as wrong. The figures that were being given by the ministers or officials during the 2025 Maha Kumbh can be studied," he said.
He said that during the 2025 Maha Kumbh, the state govt claimed to have created many facilities and infrastructure. "The CM had even said that even if 100 crore devotees come, we would welcome them. But all these turned out to be hollow claims. BJP is a master in hiding real figures and promotes only false figures," he said.
He also questioned the state govt's tall claims of holding a "digital Maha Kumbh" and asserted that the govt completely failed to provide the correct data. "The govt did not reveal the exact figure of casualties in the stampede and even created pressure on the kin of the deceased to change the cause of deaths. The whereabouts of many missing people is still unknown," he alleged.
